Yes it is! If you want it to be that is... Let us explain...

Epoxy flooring is commonly utilized in commercial and industrial settings because of its slip-resistant features. This is because these types of environments provide a higher danger of slips and falls as a result of the nature of the job that is being done. This is due to the fact that the top layer of an epoxy floor is incorporated with aggregates which offer texture that prevents slipping, and with epoxies very strong and durable finish being able to hold the aggregates the finish maintains its texture even with heavy traffic and industrial use.

Epoxy floorings slip resistance can be improved in a collection of ways. Before applying the epoxy mixture to the floor, one strategy involves including a non-slip aggregate in. Broadcasting, the act of throwing the additive by letting it fall in a uniform fashion across the uncured surface, is another method of increasing slip-resistance. Silica sand is used, or aluminum oxide for its hardness rating, are two examples of the types of abrasive materials that can be used in this application because they both provide additional traction. Lastly, paint chips, or 'flake' as it's commonly referred to, is another option for adding texture and slip-resistance, usually going into a colored coating matching a color in the flake for uniformity and then getting a clear coat top-coat to see the flake color show through once done, great option for a lot of spaces as it's a balance between course texture and smooth and great for impact strength from tool drops or impact. The type of epoxy color doesn't really matter for increasing the texture, it can be a clear coat or a colorful coat, which gives you a lot more options to meet your needs for the space, something we at C*Rock Finishing are here to help with of course!

It is essential to keep in mind that there is no flooring material that is absolutely free of the risk of slipping, and accidents can still take place. Epoxy flooring that is equipped with slip-resistant characteristics can, on the other hand, significantly cut down on the likelihood of slips, falls, and injuries occurring in high-traffic areas.
