We are most certainly biased in this post, but, we like to help, so if you are going to go on the hunt for the right coatings or concrete polishing/sealing contractor we're here to hopefully save you some time when debating possible companies to choose from. With that, we know selecting the right concrete polishing company can be a daunting task, especially if you are not familiar with the process. Here are some things we hope might help you choose the right company for your project:

  1. Research potential companies: Look for companies that specialize in concrete polishing and have a good reputation in the industry. Of course Google or Yelp will lead you to the companies that have offered these types of services, however it may not be their focus, and when it comes to this type of work, you really want professional tradesmen on the job and professional companies which know how to do things correctly the first time. From years of experience, we at C*Rock Finishing know all to well the results of clients going for the most economical bid on a project, only to have to have it redone and lose more time and money on issues that were probably avoidable having gone with less professional or qualified concrete finishing and coatings contractors. So, check out their websites and read reviews from past customers to get an idea of the quality of their work.

  2. Get multiple quotes: It’s a good idea to get quotes from at least three different companies to compare prices and services. C*Rock Finishing is all about having clients shop around, and often we have had clients respond with really low bids, which we will most of the time tell the client they should go with the offer because it's a great deal and that company may just be looking to fill in the calendar, however it could also be a "get what you pay for" type of situation and we'll advise against it but understand it's ultimately up to the client to decide of course. With that though, be sure to provide each company with the same information and specifications so you can accurately compare their estimates.

  3. Consider their experience and qualifications: Choose a company that has experience real experience in concrete polishing and floor coatings. This is a niche trade, and while many other types of contractors will 'try it out' for clients, it really is a deep breadth of information and experience needed to do these types of services correctly, that and of course the right machines and tooling to do it efficiently. If you're contractor is talking about polishing 5,000sqft with a 10" grinder, I'd of course say DON'T DO IT, but these are the types of stories we've seen over and over again. Ask about their training and certifications, as well as how long they have been in business. Just like C*Rock Finishing has to offer, any company with a longer track record and more experienced service providers is likely to provide better service.

  4. Look at their portfolio: This is less important overall, but does give a sense for the type of work they've focused on, so a company’s portfolio is a great way to see examples of their past work and get an idea of the quality of their services.

  5. Ask about their equipment and materials: Concrete polishing requires specialized equipment and materials, so be sure to ask about what the company uses, companies like us, C*Rock Finishing, are always happy to fill in clients as to the machines we use and give clients an understand that it's not just a matter of common tooling or machines you might rent from a big box store. Look for a company that uses high-quality, modern equipment and materials to ensure a professional and long-lasting finish, like we do at C*Rock Finishing of course!

  6. Consider their customer service: Good customer service is crucial when it comes to any project, but legit tradesmen are one facet of getting good construction services, the other side of it that's not always emphasized is the ethical and good customer service standards as well as their business practices. At C*Rock Finishing we're all about providing great service and keeping high standards not just with our tradesmen on site but also with the client relations as well. Choose a company that is responsive and willing to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have.

  7. Get references: Don’t be afraid to ask for references from past customers. Talking to someone who has worked with the company before can give you a good idea of their level of professionalism and the quality of their work.

By following these tips, you can choose the right concrete polishing or floor coatings company for your project and achieve the beautiful, durable finish. It may take some extra time and effort, but it’s worth it to ensure a successful outcome, but of course, when in doubt, just contact us at C*Rock Finishing for your concrete polishing, sealing, and coating needs!
